St Augustine's is open every Sunday for public worship


Please note that services will revert to 9.30am instead of 10am starting in May, except 30th May at 10am

As this is the fifth Sunday of the month, this is the only service in the Benefice.

Open for Private Prayer

The Church continues to be open for private prayer

Open on Wednesdays from 9am to 7pm and on Sundays from 11am to 7pm (note the later time) to allow for private prayer, lighting a candle or quiet reflection.

Food Bank

In addition to the box in St Augustine's there are also boxes in Costcutter, Skirlaugh and outside 6 Old Forge Way in which you can place items for the Food Bank - but cans and packets of food only. Please help if you can.

They will especially welcome sponge pudding, pasta sauce, UHT fruit juice, tinned fruit, tinned tomatoes and tinned meat . They have plenty of baked beans and soup.


With the suspension of services and fund-raising events, your Parish Church will feel the strain financially. If you would like to contribute you can do so online here. Please mark your contribution with CV19 and the village church you wish to contribute to (if required) and the funds will be distributed accordingly.

St Augustine's re-opened on Easter Day for attended services after lockdown

Also open for private prayer from 9am to 5pm on Wednesdays and 11am to 5pm on Sundays, and for church services as listed above.

We are an Anglican and Methodist Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP) and aim to offer a warm and friendly welcome to everyone.

The Cornerstone Coffee Shop normally opens weekly in church on Tuesday mornings from 9.30 to 11.30 serving fresh Fairtrade coffee, tea and home-made cakes but is currently closed but will re-open as soon as we are able to do so.

Our Grade 1 listed church building is one of the finest examples of perpendicular architecture in the country and we look forward to welcoming visitors from approximately 9am to 4pm daily when restrictions are eased.

Toilet facilities are currently not available

Our Tuesday Coffee Shop is currently closed due to the coronavirus.
